PART 1 : ESTONIA

:: PART 1 ::

Recently we just got back from our short holidays to Baltic countries and Poland. I can’t wait to share it with everyone! I was very very excited to visit Baltic countries, many people told me the old cities are so beautiful.

I didn’t expect anything, sometimes putting to many expectations on the trips based on what people told me mostly led me to disappointment as people have different preference and options about stuff, and most people are afraid to tell you the honest opinion, they will tell you all the nice stuff.

Our first stop was Tallinn, the oldest medieval capital among Riga and Vilnius. Tallinn is not big, you can easily walk from airport to the Old Town, well it takes around 45 minutes perhaps.

// OLD TOWN //

The old town (Raekoja Plats) is very old and I felt like transported back to medieval age. I love small old cities with colourful old buildings. Sometimes I couldn’t imagine how long that building have been standing there. We wandered around and got lost but that is the most interesting part of roaming around the old city. While my traveling partner is more excited to try the local beers during this trips as maybe you have already know the price of beer in Norway is extreme expensive :p.

// ST OLAV CHURCH //

We went to St Olav church and climbed up to the tower, it was a little bit rough climb, the endless spiral staircases was exhausting and there is not much space for two way directions, the stone was a little bit steep, but the view from the top is breathtaking and beautiful. The colourful houses was like ginger bread houses from Christmas book.

// OTHERS//

We spent around 2 days in Tallinn, of course there are more things to do and see in Tallinn, this is our first time so I think we will just take it lightly and checking out the major places in the capital, we definitely coming back to explore other places. Other places we went in Tallinn were Toom Kirik, Katrina’s Passage and had our lunch at Pegasus restaurant which the food was very delicious. The people in general are fine and there are a lot of nice bars and cafe around with medieval theme 🙂
