Turkey | Where is Jenn O

It was our first short gateway to Istanbul after we met first time in Vietnam in July 2012. Istanbul is one of my must visit cities in the world. As a design student and love history so much, I always dreamt to visit Istanbul, to me it seems so incredible from the breathtaking Aya Sofia to the marvellous Mediterranean food.

Across from Aya Sofia, there is a Blue Mosque, I saw it recently on one of James Bond movie. I love the hand painted ceiling of the Mosque.

Topkapi Palace is also one of must visit places in Istanbul. The Palace complex is very beautiful with garden and fantastic view of the sea. We took our time exploring the area and visiting a few museums inside.

Istanbul also famous for its market that sells a lot of spices, Turkey ceramics and lamps, and of course the dessert. The pistachio dessert is very delicious and it was our favourite.

Taksim area was full with the shops, there is a vintage tram which run along the road. Kim brought me to a ‘secret tea place’. It was a little bit hard to find, the entrance to this tea place is hardly to notice, it looked like a small door to a shop but actually it led us to a small alley and end up at open air space filled with tables and low tools, the locals people love to hang out and enjoy the tea here.
